'Botanica, – nature up close’
Gallery 13's Spring Exhibit features work by artists from Ireland and Scotland. They have created images inspired by the detailed study of nature and in their own unique ways.

5 Irish artists present works in various media and styles

Linda Brunker presents sculpture created using elements taken directly from nature such as leaves, fruit or flowers, assembled into flowing figurative shapes and cast in bronze.
Denis Brown has created a new series of 9 panels using his innovative ‘calligraphy on glass’ technique. He incorporates images of a Dandelion seed head with the wishes of many people etched onto layers of glass.
Mary Rohan’s oil paintings are still life studies of elements collected from nature where she explores color and form.
Kirsty Lorenz presents Limited edition prints of her beautiful oil paintings of spring flowers presented in fresh and inspiring ways.
Owen Rohu’s oil on canvas paintings captures the short lived beauty of natural life as it changes before his eyes.

Sculpture by Linda Brunker and ‘Wordscapes’ by Denis Brown.

Gallery 13 is proud and excited to introduce Calligraphic art on glass by Denis Brown.

Brown’s work stems from ancient Celtic traditions of manuscript writing. Each work is a three dimensional mass of writing engraved on multiple layers of glass. Text becomes ‘texture’ and each piece has a deep and elemental quality almost like a ‘visual mantra’. Brown has won awards and commissions on four continents, and is internationally recognized as a world leader in the field of Letter Arts. His work explodes from and extends traditions of calligraphy in the form of innovative works of art on glass and paper.

A CELEBRATION OF NATURE AND SUMMER WITH IRISH FINE ART

Gallery 13 has partnered with Fabrik magazine and California Pottery & Tile Works to host the ‘Spirit of Nature’ exhibition of Irish Fine Art.

Opening on June 21st in honor of the Summer Solstice this exhibition celebrates summer with nature and landscape inspired paintings and limited edition prints by acclaimed Irish artists and elegant bronze sculptures by Linda Brunker. The afternoon and evening will be fun-filled with an exciting program of classical Irish music and poetry readings by Irish performers who are the best in their field.

Live music will start at 3 p.m.

Food & Wine will be served.
